Newly Qualified Social Workers

For Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSW’s) our Practice Unit supports the recruitment of top social work graduates wishing to enter the social care workforce. The unit delivers a comprehensive ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year in Employment) programme, endorsed by the College of Social Work, and has trained practice educators undertaking the assessment of participants, a comprehensive training programme, a ‘buddy’ system, and a range of additional ASYE related resources. Step Up to Social Work

The Department for Education (DfE) supports local authorities to train and develop those who wish to be a social worker on a 14 month taught and practice based programme providing the Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work at Masters Level. A bursary towards fees and living costs will be given monthly to each successful applicant. Visit our vacancies page to find out when we are recruiting.
